Luminaires of white light play an important role in the magnetic flaw detection N & B and are absolutely indispensable when carrying out the liquid penetrant inspection. The illumination of the surface under examination with intensity of 500 lux is not always sufficient: the colorimetric detection with red penetrants is notable for higher sharpness when using sources of cold, extra cold or adapted light (adaptation to the absorption of pigment, used in penetrants) or sources of conversed light (conversion of warm light into cold one by special filtrating).
This section presents the sources of white color, developed by company Babb Co for comprehensive inspection of colored penetrants when ordinary filament lamps are not sufficient. Portable lamp Led Luxeon 230 VAC

Aluminium portable lamp with diode Luxeon 3 W. Correlated color temperature > 5500°K. Lamp Led emits very cold white/bluish rays that contrast with red penetrants. The battery condition has no effect on the quality of rays. Due to this the lamp Led Lux?on compares favorably from other lamps type maglite or any other filament lamps: the light emitted by such lamps acquires the orange color as the battery discharges, which is not at all desirable during the liquid penetrant inspection and could cause the wrong interpretation of the results.

Portable lamp on 230V “SUPRACTIVE”

Portable lamp Supractive - source of cold white light (5400°K) with high color intensity (IRC>95), partly controlled by rear reflector that is equipped with correcting light filter in order to adapt specific white spectrum with prevailing wave length of 555 nm.

Total length makes up 45 cm, effective length - 25 cm, about 500lx per 35 cm.
