In most part of industrial X-ray television system applications it is necessary to achieve high parameters of resolution and contrast sensitivity which allows the distinguishing of minima details of the image. To improve the parameters it is necessary to reduce the noise level on the image, to optimize the brightness and hardness and to carry out the digital filtering of initial image. Processed images should be data based for long-term storage. These functions are implemented by using systems of image refinement of SOVA+ series.  

This system is the base for widespread X-ray television complexes of FILIN series, digital radiography systems FOSFOMATIC and systems of archiving X-ray films. The system has an integrated unit, controlling all parameters of digital detectors of X-ray radiation, such like electronic shutter speed, integration time, gain control and many others.

Due to many functions of different images processing the system SOVA+ is an ideal selection for the examination of radiographic/radioscopic image and for drawing the conclusion about the quality of the product under examination. The suitable graphical interface is arranged in format Windows.  The displaying of live video and processed image on separate monitors make the operator work quick and comfortable. The application of sequences allows the activation of sophisticated operations by pushing one button.

The possibility to store images on rewritable dvd and blue-ray disks ensures the long-term storage and allows the management of databases, containing dozen thousands of pictures. The developed retrieval system provides the quick finding of any image. There is a possibility to connect several systems to the centralized database. The support of ODBC allows the easy integration of the complex into the Automated Control System of the enterprise. The software supports the remote transmission of the images. Thus, it is possible to place the system at any distance from X-ray television system.

Integrated tools for the amplification of the image area under examination and for the measurement of geometrical dimensions simplify the analyses of defects. The interface of the program and database is completely in Russian language with a lot of hints which allows the use of software even to first-time operator.
In the tomography mode the algorithm for the 3-D image regeneration by two-dimensional projections helps in the examination of the objects of irregular shape. It is also used for the inspection of different assembled structures.

For the scanning of welds and castings the algorithm of automated retrieval and flaw parameter definition is used with integrated sensitivity adjustment. In most cases the use of this algorithm allows the significant simplification of operator work on the definition of flaw sizes.

SOVA+  purpose of the system:

     • Image input from external devices (flat panel detector, FOSFOMATIC, scanner, video-camera)

Technical characteristics of computer used:

This table gives approximate technical characteristics of computers used. The configuration depends on the type and specification of the equipment ordered and it is selected by supplier based on optimum modes of the equipment operation.
By request of the customer it is possible to modify the configuration of computer, install the fault-tolerant disk array, add additional monitor and use industrial body for 19"-rack. Some systems could be supplied with portable computer (notebook).
